Do you remember the last time you had to catch your breath? Perhaps you were winded from walking up a steep flight of stairs, or you frantically searched for a child who’d wandered away in a crowded place. You remember the experience – your heart is pounding, your lungs gasping for air. Then, as deep breaths fill your lungs, your heart rate slows and you are ready to move on.
This Easter Season, we’re going to explore worship as an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and be refreshed by the presence of the Risen Christ.
Beginning April 28, the pastors of First Church will present “Catch Your Breath,” a sermon series based on the Gospel of John, during Sunday morning worship services at 8:15 and 10:45.
April 28: In Times of Fear (John 20:19-30)
May 5: In Times of Exhaustion (John 21:1-19)
May 12: In Times of Doubt (John 20:24-30)
May 19: In Times of Loneliness (John 13:31-35)
May 26: In Times of Suffering (John 5:1-9)
June 2: In Times of Division (John 17:20-26)
