Wonderful Wednesday

Children ages three through sixth grade and their families are invited to attend the spring session of the Wonderful Wednesday family fellowship program. Held weekly on Wednesdays, this program provides Bible study and fun activities for children, and allows families to spend quality time together. The spring session begins Jan. 24, and concludes with our Annual Passion Play on March 28. Meetings last from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Non-church members are welcome to attend, but all participants must be pre-registered.…

Rejoicing Spirits Worship Service

First Church will hold a Rejoicing Spirits worship service on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 4:00 p.m. All are welcome! The service is specially designed and adapted for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families. An informal atmosphere, brief messages, and lots of music and fellowship opportunities. Rejoicing Spirits is held on the fourth Sunday of each month.

2018 Women’s Retreat: Feb. 2 to 4

Registration is now open for “Tailor Made: God’s Masterpiece,” the 2018 Women’s Retreat to be held Friday to Sunday, Feb. 2 to 4, at Mt. Asbury Retreat Center in Newville. All First Church women are invited and encouraged to attend, for a weekend filled with fellowship, fun, food and spiritual renewal. Hotel-like accommodations and four meals included. Youth-led Worship

Sunday, Feb. 11 is Youth Sunday at First Church. Members of the Youth Fellowship Group (grades 6 to 12) will lead both morning worship services at 8:15 and 10:45. All are welcome!

First Church welcomes knitters, crocheters and crafters of all types for the new Knit@Nite fellowship group. The group meets on the third Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Tower Meeting Room (former Children’s Library), Room 216D. Bagging Groceries at Mission Central

Join us at Mission Central on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 6:00 p.m. to help sort and bag donated groceries. The groceries are then distributed to families and individuals in need through Bethesda Mission Outreach. Mission Central, a warehouse and affiliate of the Susquehanna Conference of The United Methodist Church, collects and distributes relief supplies and humanitarian aid locally, nationally and internationally as needed in response to natural disasters and other crises. Annual Passion Play

Come experience the passion and power of the Easter story. First Church will put on its annual Passion Play on Wednesday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Passion Play re-enacts the events of Holy Week, beginning with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and concluding with his crucifixion and resurrection.
