Join us at Mission Central on Wednesday, June 20 at 6:00 p.m. to help sort and bag donated groceries. The groceries are then transported to the Bethesda Mission shelter in Harrisburg to be shared with residents in need.
Mission Central, a warehouse and affiliate of the Susquehanna Conference of The United Methodist Church, collects and distributes relief supplies and humanitarian aid locally, nationally and internationally as needed in response to natural disasters and other crises.
First Church members volunteer at Mission Central the third Wednesday evening of every monthto prepare the groceries.

The Third Friday Food Truck Feast rolls into the First Church parking lot again on June 15, from 5 to 9 p.m.
An expected six to eight trucks will be pulling in with a variety of foods. Confirmed vendors so far include Mad Sandwiches, Mad Dash, Chicken Truck, Bountiful Feast, Up in Smoke, The Sweet Spot, and Ice Cream Express.
In addition to good food and music, the event offers a fun time to meet and socialize with other community members. First Church will provide tables and chairs, and free parking including handicapped accessible parking.
Food Trucks are scheduled for the following additional Fridays in 2018: July 20, Aug. 17, Sept. 21 and Oct. 19.

Visit First Church at Jubilee Day in downtown Mechanicsburg on Thursday, June 21.The church parking lot will be open to the public. Free-will donations will be accepted to benefit a youth mission trip to Brooklyn, NY this summer.
First Church is located just one block from the Jubilee Day activities, and our building will be open for visitors to use the rest rooms.

VBS will be held from Monday to Friday, June 11 to 15, from 9:00 a.m. to noon daily. Children ages 3 through entering sixth grade can engage in a fun Bible adventure, with games, crafts, music and daily science experiments. This year’s theme is Rolling River Rampage!
There is a $5 registration fee per child. Need-based scholarships are available.

First Church will host an outing to Faith Day at the Harrisburg Senators baseball game on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
Join us for a buffet-style picnic at 2:30 p.m., followed by the game at 3:30 p.m. The buffet will include hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ chicken, baked beans, potato salad, mac & cheese, chips, popcorn, cookies, soda and water.
Take advantage of a special discounted rate – only $20 for adults (ages 13 and up) and $10 for children ages 4 to 12 (kids 3 and under are free). This includes the lunch and game ticket. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to Mission Central.

First Church is excited to host ‘Re-Creation’ in concert this summer! The group will perform in concert on Saturday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary, and lead worship at both First Church services on Sunday, June 24.
This team of talented performers travels across the United States to inspire and enhance the lives of hospitalized veterans with their uplifting performances. The group is known as ‘America’s ambassadors to hospitalized veterans,’ as they have served across our nation in VA Medical Centers and State Veterans homes for 40 years.
The Saturday concert will feature a variety of music to include Big Band, rock, pop, Broadway, country and patriotic songs to honor America. The Sunday music, ‘Believe’ is a celebration of faith and confidence in God’s mighty love and includes classic hymns, sing-a-longs, praise & worship and dramatic pieces.
