Bereavement Camps Hosted by Homeland Center

First Church and the Homeland Center will offer a six-week Bereavement Support Group this summer. Brian Medkeff-Rose, a Homeland bereavement counselor, will facilitate. The program offers coping skills, healing, self-awareness, and support from other group members. Sessions will run on Tuesdays, July 11 to Aug. 15, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on-site at First Church. Registration is required. To register or for more information, call Brian at (717) 409-8889.

“Change the World”: Summer Sunday School

Each Sunday from July 2 to Sept. 3, a combined Sunday School class will be offered for adults and youth in the Multipurpose room. We will be studying, Change the World: Recovering the Message and Mission of Jesus, by Mike Slaughter. Each week we will dig into Scripture, explore Jesus’ life and teachings, and discuss what our response should be to similar problems in our world today. CRU Mission Speaker Jenna Mengle

First Church member Jenna Mengle will discuss her experiences as a CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) missionary on Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room. Jenna is a graduate of and CRU missionary with Miami University in Ohio. She served a summer mission in Montenegro, Europe, and will serve with CRU in Italy this fall. Several First Church youth and adult leaders will discuss their recent mission trip to Alaska during Sunday School on Aug. 6, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room. Mission Speakers-Graham Bowen and Shawn Rapp

First Church members Graham Bowen and Shawn Rapp will discuss their recent mission trips on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room. UMW Yard, Book and Bake Sale

The United Methodist Women of First Church will hold their annual Yard, Book and Bake Sale on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church parking lot.
