Rejoicing Spirits Worship Service

First Church will hold a Rejoicing Spirits worship service on Sunday, June 25 at 4:00 p.m. All are welcome! The service is specially designed and adapted for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families. An informal atmosphere, brief messages, and lots of music and fellowship opportunities. Rejoicing Spirits services are held on the fourth Sunday of each month.

The Rewritten Life Bible Study

First Church will offer “The Rewritten Life: When God Changes Your Story.” This new six-week Bible study explores the transformational power of God through the stories of people in the Bible whose lives were changed forever by Him. In six lessons you will meet Abraham and Sarah, Jacob, Naomi, Daniel, Peter and an unnamed woman. Each Sunday from July 2 to Sept. 3, a combined Sunday School class will be offered for adults and youth in the Multipurpose room. We will be studying, Change the World: Recovering the Message and Mission of Jesus, by Mike Slaughter. First Church and the Homeland Center will offer a six-week Bereavement Support Group this summer. Brian Medkeff-Rose, a Homeland bereavement counselor, will facilitate. The program offers coping skills, healing, self-awareness, and support from other group members. Sessions will run on Tuesdays, July 11 to Aug. 15, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on-site at First Church.
