Knit@Nite

First Church welcomes knitters, crocheters and crafters of all types for the Knit@Nite fellowship group. The group meets on the third Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Tower Meeting Room (former Children’s Library), Room 216D. Food Trucks

The Third Friday Food Trucks return to First Church again on July 19. Join us in the church parking lot from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Confirmed vendors so far include Shredderz, It’s All Greek, Chicken Truck, 717 Tacos, Lucky Penny Burger Co., Sugar Whipped and Kona Ice. First Church will hold a Rejoicing Spirits worship service on Sunday, July 28, at 4:00 p.m. All are welcome! The service is specially designed and adapted for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families. An informal atmosphere, brief messages, and lots of music and fellowship opportunities. Rejoicing Spirits is held on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Community Day

First Church invites you to the 4th Annual Mechanicsburg Community Day on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 at Memorial Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. First Church, along with several other community churches are sponsoring free pool admission and the Children’s Activity Area, which features three inflatable rides! The event will feature live music, food trucks, kids programming and more. Also, the Mechanicsburg Pool will be open free to the public. Yard, Book and Bake Sale

The United Methodist Women (UMW) of First Church will hold their annual Yard, Book and Bake Sale on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 8 a.m. to noon in the church parking lot. The church library will host a huge book sale on site. Most books can be purchased for 25 cents to $1. Back by popular demand, the UMW will be selling their homemade baked goods. Blessings of the Backpacks

School aged children are invited to bring their backpacks to either the 8:15 or 10:45 a.m. worship service for a special blessing to be prayed over their backpacks. We will pray for a safe and wonderful school year and for all our students, teachers, school administrators and school support staff.
