If this is your first time here, you may want to:

What will my Sunday morning experience be like?

The 8:15 a.m. Foundation Service is traditional. It includes hymn singing led by a choir, prayer and a sermon given by one of our pastors which is both encouraging and challenging.  The 10:45 a.m. Convergent Service brings together classic hymns, gospel songs, and older and new praise and worship songs led by a praise team and choir.  This less formal service is intended to help us all comer closer together and to God.  We invite children to be involved in worship!  Visit the Children’s Tab to learn how children can participate in worship.  We strive to provide a friendly environment where EVERYONE is welcomed and included.

How early should I arrive for worship?

Plan on arriving about 15 minutes before the service starts. That will give you time to park and find your seat in the sanctuary. Greeters located at the main entrance and the Welcome Desk in the main lobby can assist you and answer any questions that you may have. Ushers at the entrances into the sanctuary will provide you with a bulletin and can further assist you.

What should I wear to worship?

We have no “dress code” and welcome you to come as you are to any worship service. However, if you want you to dress as others do, most people dress casually for our 10:45 am service (so you can leave the tie at home). People tend to dress a bit more formal for our 8:15 am traditional service.

What about my kids?

Children are a big part of our worship community and your children are always welcome to attend worship with you! However, many parents find that their children benefit from the care offered during worship. Child care is available for newborns through three year olds during both Sunday morning services. Wee Worship is available at the 10:45 am service for children beginning at age three and Kids Worship is available at the 10:45 am service for 5 year olds through 5th graders. Please check out our Children and Youth pages for more details about our many wonderful programs for your kids!

What about Sunday School?

Sunday School is provided for all ages from 9:30 – 10:30 am (between the two worship services) so adults with children can drop them off at their class, then attend an adult class of their own! Please look in the bulletin for more details and room locations or ask for more details at the Welcome Desk in the main lobby.

How do I become a member of First Church?

Membership in the United Methodist Church is open to all who profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Those who become members make a commitment to grow as disciples of Jesus through prayer, regular worship attendance, participation in a small group or class for spiritual growth, giving of their time and supporting the ministries of the church financially, and sharing their faith with others. Those interested are asked to complete a six-week new member experience called, “A Disciple’s Path.” Please contact our Director of Discipleship if interested.
