First Church kicks off a new year of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) on Friday, Sept. 27. All moms of young children are invited to come and connect with our community of women who meet to laugh, support each other and embrace the journey together. Marketplace of Miracles Shopping Event

The United Methodist Women (UMW) of First Church will host the Marketplace of Miracles on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a shopping event like no other! Several organizations and merchants will have a variety of unique and inexpensive items for sale, with all proceeds benefiting the education and prevention of human trafficking, and fair treatment of workers in lesser developed countries. The Redemption of Scrooge Study

Based on the Charles Dickens story, A Christmas Carol, this study explores the world of Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Cratchits from a Christian faith perspective. Along the way we will meet the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, and learn about living with and for others in a world blessed by Jesus. First Church is pleased to support Isaiah 61 Ministries, a local organization that serves the needs of the homeless in Dauphin County. They provide a variety of services including a soup kitchen, clothing bank and Life groups. Knit@Nite

First Church welcomes knitters, crocheters and crafters of all types for the Knit@Nite fellowship group. The group meets on the third Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Tower Meeting Room (former Children’s Library), Room 216D.
