Youth Missions and Service Opportunities
Mission Trips: The youth of First Church have the opportunity to serve on a number of mission trips before they graduate from high school. These trips involve youth that are willing to commit to hard work, responsible behavior, and Christian servanthood.
June 26-July 2, the youth will be in Canonsburg, PA, at a Group Work Camp.See this PAGE!
Sleep Out for the Homeless: Every year on Thanksgiving Eve, the youth of the church sleep outside in boxes to raise awareness of the homeless in our nation. They raise funds, which are given to local agencies that care for those in need.
Fifth Quarter: Youth from the community are encouraged to gather in a safe place for food, music, and fellowship after the Mechanicsburg home football games. This is an outreach ministry, which is open to all youth in the community.
Souper Bowl of Caring: Annually, youth have the opportunity to participate in this nation-wide event, which collects funds for a local charity.
30-Hour Famine: Youth commit to going without food for 30 hours to understand how hunger feels. This event raises money through donors and sponsors to help starving people in the United States and in the world. This event is held periodically.
Compassion International: Youth sponsor a child through this organization with their own donations.
Vacation Bible School: Every summer, the youth volunteer their time to support this community outreach ministry.
