This fall, Pastor Denny’s sermon series has been reminding us that “one-anothering” is an important trait in our lives as Christians. “God has shown you his grace in many different ways. So, be good servants and use whatever gift he has given you in a way that will best serve each other” (1 Peter 4:10). What would it look like if we lived in a world that was focused on loving one another, serving one another, praying for one another, caring for one another, giving to one another, listening to one another, connecting with and reaching out to one another, and worshipping with one another? What a wonderful world this would be!
Nov. 6 is our congregation’s Consecration Sunday. We encourage you to attend an important Sunday morning worship that day (in-person at 8:30 or 11 a.m., or you can join online).
We will also host the Ministries and Missions Fair in-person once again, and this will be a very important part of our celebration. Stop by the Multipurpose Room between 9:30-11 a.m. for “Cookies, Coffee and Conversation” to learn more about the many ways that we can give, not just of our money, but also of our time and talents out of a heart of generosity.
This spiritual-growth-oriented experience is designed to enrich our biblical understanding of Christian stewardship and will be a great opportunity for everyone to see and learn more about the many, many ways that this church reaches out as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ through our many ministries and missions. Rather than focusing on the need of the church to receive, we want to focus on the need of the giver to give for his or her own spiritual development.
As we approach another Consecration Sunday, let’s reflect with gratitude on how we haave been blessed, and then prayerfully consider how we can live with a heart of generosity through our financial gifts, our acts of service and volunteering, our prayers, and our words of invitation and encouragement.
