The pastors of First Church will present “Galatians: Gospel of Grace,” a new sermon series this summer.
Paul wrote the letter to the Galatians in a time of tension. Leaders in the Galatian churches were suggesting that Gentile believers must become Jewish before they could become followers of Christ. Paul responds with intense emotion, urging the Galatians to reclaim the gospel of grace. Paul encourages them to accept the freedom God has given them in Jesus Christ, to be guided by the Holy Spirit, to live in unity as they “bear one another’s burdens,” and share the fruit of the Spirit.
This letter is especially relevant for us today as we experience the transformative power of grace and reach more people with the good news of Jesus Christ.
The six-week series begins June 5. Messages will be presented during Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 and 11:00.
