- Thank God for the blessings He has given you.
- Pray for our pastors, staff, lay leaders, congregation and ministries at First Church, as well as for your family and community.
- Join a prayer group to pray with and for others.
- Send us your prayer requests (link to contact page) so we can pray with and for you.

The Power of Prayer
Why We Pray
To Build Trust in God
Prayer helps us to lean on God and surrender to His plan, which is better than we could ever imagine (Proverbs 3:5-6, Jeremiah 29:11-13, Romans 8:26-30, Ephesians 1:17-19).
It’s Effective
Prayer works! Over and over again, we’ve seen God change hearts and lives through prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14, Matthew 21:18-22, 1 John 5:14-15, James 5:13-18).
To Be Blessed and Strengthened
Prayer encourages us, inspires us and helps us in any circumstance we might face (Isaiah 40:28-31, Matthew 7:7-11, Matthew 26:41, Philippians 4:6-7).
God Wants Us to Pray
God wants to be close to us, and prayer allows us to connect with Him wherever we are, whatever we’re feeling (Psalm 139:1-12, John 15:7-8, Romans 12:12, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
